Choosing the right support worker

A good match considers more than availability. You should feel comfortable, respected and confident in the arrangement.

Your preferences matter

Communication style, interests, routines, culture, gender preferences, driving requirements and practical skills can all influence a suitable match.

Ask about experience

Relevant experience should fit the actual support being delivered. More experience is not automatically better if the working style is not right for you.

Meet before regular support

Where appropriate, an introduction or meet-and-greet lets everyone ask questions and confirm expectations before the regular roster begins.

Speak up early

Tell your contact if the match does not feel right. Raising a concern will not affect your right to receive respectful support.

Want to talk this through?

Our intake team can explain how this applies to your situation without pressure to proceed.
